next week: cool, free visionary program on the digital economy

This looks like a really interesting program and it's being held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View which is fabulous in and of itself. People told me for years I should go and when I finally did, I became a huge fan and regretted not going earlier. You can only really understand today's technology fully, when you see where it came from–the influences for everything that we take for granted now. Get yourself there, ASAP.

Back to this program–it sounds fascinating: "Managing Digital Assets: The Challenge of Creating and Sustaining Intangible Value in a Data-Driven Economy". It's panel reporting out a study of the implications of emerging information technologies on societies and governments–so the impact of the new stuff on the world, basically.

And the panelists are impressive:
  • Robin Chase, Founder, Zipcar, Buzzcar, Veniam Works,
  • Michael Fertik, Founder and CEO of,
  • Bill Coleman, Partner, Alsop Louie Partners, and
  • Vijay Sondhi, Senior Vice President, Innovation, Visa Inc.
It's free, it's close, and it's in a cool place. You can't help but learn something and see some good role models, at the very least. Smart people, important ideas. Good place to hang out for awhile.

It's next Tuesday, 8:30-10am. See more & sign up here.
