new professor brings "big data" expertise to SJSU MIS

So speaking (in my last post) of the president's cluster hiring initiative in CyberSec and Big Data, I'm delighted to add that we're welcoming Dr. Scott Jensen, a Big Data expert, as our first new faculty member in MIS in six years. Scott joins us from Indiana University where he was a researcher at the Data to Insight Center (They do "interdisciplinary research and education in the preservation of scientific data, digital humanities, large-scale data management, data analytics, and visualization.")

Scott earned his PhD in Computer Science there at Indiana after a long career working in technology for Arthur Andersen, Price Watherhouse and Ernst & Young, so he brings a really unique blend of technological knowledge and business experience that is just ideal for an MIS department like us. Oh, and he's a super-nice & funny guy who loves to teach too. Please stop up on the 2nd floor to help welcome him to SJSU this fall.
