“I was truly inspired by the enthusiasm and preparation that San Jose State students put into the business models and strategic plans for the case study competition, said Thomas Barnett, Senior Manager with Cisco’s Service Provider Marketing group. Barnett’s team is responsible for Cisco’s IP Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) messaging and thought leadership initiatives such as the Visual Networking Index (VNI) and the Connected Life User Experience (CLUE) Index. For the past five years, Cisco has co-authored a telecom industry case with Deloitte Consulting for the case competition. With respect to San Jose State’s participation in the 2011 case study competition, Barnett shared the following assessment. “SJSU demonstrates the well-balanced education that today’s students are receiving. These young men and women can clearly compete in this business development and problem-solving program with other top-tier universities. Cisco will continue to engage and challenge the best and brightest students with ‘real world’ case studies to help identify and shape the future leaders of our industry.”Is that terrific? Not that we didn't already believe we could run with the best but it's just really gratifying to hear this from a trusted and unbiased voice, especially being an industry leader and visionary who knows what he's talking about.
Thank you, Thomas. Thank you, Cisco. And congrats again to our team and the supporting students too, who have made us so proud.
